How to Start and Stop a SAP Hana Tenant Database
In this post we will discuss about How to Start and Stop a SAP Hana Tenant Database. Sometime it is possible to start and stop a individual database in a SAP Hana multi-tenant database. Here great thing is that we can start or stop a individual database, leaving other database as normal functioning. But sometime configuration changes or certain operations will force you to start, stop full Hana system.
How to Start a SAP HANA Tenant Database in Hana Studio:
Step1) Open SAP HANA Studio and log into SYSTEMDB with SYSTEM user.
Step2) Now open SQL Console.
Step3) Now run below mentioned command to start SAP HANA Tenant Dtabase.
ALTER SYSTEM START DATABASE TESTING
How to Stop a SAP HANA Tenant Database in Hana Studio:
Step1) Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 as mentioned above.
Step2) Now run below mentioned command to stop SAP HANA Tenant Database.
ALTER SYSTEM STOP DATABASE TESTING
How to Stop SAP HANA Tenant Database in SAP HANA Cockpit:
Step1) Login into SAP HANA Cockpit and click on SYSTEMDB tile on MY resources tab.
Step2) Now click on Ovarall Tenant statuses tile, and you wil be able to see all your Tenant databases here.
Step3) Now Click on Stop Tenant to stop a Tenant Database. It will ask us to Stop tenant Database Softly or Immediately. Choose any one and click on OK.
Step4) And finally our SAP HANA Tenant database will be stopped.
How to Start SAP HANA Tenant Database in SAP HANA Cockpit:
Step1) Login into SAP HANA Cockpit and click on SYSTEMDB tile on MY resources tab.
Step2) Now click on Ovarall Tenant statuses tile, and you wil be able to see all your Tenant databases here.
Step3) Now click on Start Tenant, and your SAP HANA Tenant Database will be started.
