SAP HANA Cockpit is a Web-based HTML5 user interface that you access through a browser, runs on SAP HANA extended application services, advanced model (XS advanced). You can use then SAP HANA Cockpit to monitor and manage systems running SAP HANA.

You can’t install cockpit as an XS Advanced application on an existing SAP HANA instance nor can you deploy XSA applications to HANA Cockpit. For a production environment it is recommended to install the SAP HANA Cockpit on a dedicated hardware. For non-production, you can deploy on an existing SAP HANA server.

SAP HANA Cockpit is used for:

To start and stop services, to monitor the system.
To configure system settings.
To manage users and authorizations.
For backup & recovery of database.
To create schedule jobs.
